The Sprinter 100 is built for serious sport. IPX8 waterproofing, medical-grade silicone, a frame engineered to handle pool sessions, trail runs, and sweaty gym workouts. It’s tough by design.
But tough doesn’t mean indestructible, and the conditions athletes train in — chlorinated water, saltwater, heavy sweat, sunscreen — are genuinely harsh on electronics over time. A quick care routine after every session is all it takes to keep your Sprinter 100 performing at its best for years.
Here’s exactly what to do.
AFTER EVERY SWIM OR HEAVY SWEAT SESSION: RINSE
This is the single most important step, and it takes about 10 seconds.
After training in a chlorinated pool, saltwater, or heavy sweat, rinse your Sprinter 100 under fresh running water. This removes the chemical residue before it has a chance to work on the materials and seals.
A few important notes:
- Use clean running water — avoid hot water, which can degrade the waterproof seals over time
- Don’t use high-pressure water (like a shower head held directly at the transducers)
- This applies after every pool session, not just occasionally
Chlorine, salt and limescale build-ups are the three biggest long-term threats to waterproof headphone longevity. This rinse neutralises all.

WIPE DOWN THE FRAME
After rinsing, use a soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe down the headband and the transducer pads — the parts that sit on your cheekbones. This removes any remaining residue, sweat oils, or surface dirt.
For stubborn buildup — sunscreen, for example, which is notoriously adhesive — a mild soap solution on the cloth works well. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, alcohol wipes on the silicone body, or abrasive materials that could damage the surface finish.
The key word is “lightly” — you’re not rubbing or soaking anything, just spot-cleaning the contact surface. Do not submerge the device in any cleaning solution. The IPX8 rating covers water, not solvents or cleaning agents.
DRY BEFORE STORING AND CHARGING
After rinsing and wiping, shake off any excess water from the frame and leave the Sprinter 100 to air-dry in a well-ventilated area before storing or charging. Avoid direct sunlight for extended drying periods, and avoid heat sources like radiators.
Crucially: do not charge until the device is completely dry. Water in or around the charging port is a potential cause of corrosion. If you’ve been in the pool and want to charge before bed, give it at least an hour to air-dry first.
STORAGE AND LONGER-TERM CARE
Store in a case or on a hook — anywhere that allows airflow and avoids moisture accumulation. Don’t leave the Sprinter 100 in a sealed bag or pocket where trapped humidity can work its way in.
Avoid extreme temperatures: a hot car in summer or freezing conditions in winter can both affect battery performance and seal integrity over time.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH PROPER CARE
The Sprinter 100 is designed to withstand years of serious use. The materials are chosen specifically for durability in the environments athletes train in. With the simple care routine above — a post-session rinse, a wipe-down, and careful drying before charging — there’s no reason your Sprinter 100 shouldn’t last through thousands of training sessions.
The care doesn’t need to be elaborate. It just needs to be consistent.
